Jean Farrell, Nienke Merbis and Dara White have been facilitating Grof Holotropic BreathworkTM workshops in Ireland for over nine years. Certification in the Grof Transpersonal Training takes several years to complete and incorporates both a theoretical framework and deep inner work.  They are committed to and continue their inner growth through Breathwork, study and reflection. Personally they have all benefited greatly through this process which is what inspires them to create an opportunity for others to explore themselves and their potential.

Jean Farrell taught classics before training as a psychotherapist in 1972 and lectured in the Metropolitan University, Manchester.  She moved to Ireland in 1982 and since then has worked as a psychotherapist in private practice.  She is also teaching counselling skills for the National University of Ireland.  For many years Jean has offered supervision and support to therapists and support workers in rape crises centres and other agencies dealing with trauma.  Jean completed her training in Grof Holotropic BreathworkTM  facilitation in 1996.  Since then has been facilitating monthly Holotropic BreathworkTM  workshops at her own centre in Westport and working with Nienke and Dara facilitating Breathing Time residential workshops. For the last number of years Jean has facilitated at modules on the international Grof Transpersonal Training (GTT) in Spain, Denmark, Italy and Ireland.  Jean and her husband share their lives with children in foster care.  Jean enjoys creating a garden around her home and centre and is interested in metaphor and symbols.

Nienke Merbis has completed courses in transpersonal psychology and shamanism in Canada. She is also a certified yoga teacher.  She began her training in Holotropic BreathworkTM facilitation in the United States in 1994 and certified in 1997.  Since then she has been involved in facilitating Grof Holotropic BreathworkTM  workshops in Ireland.  For almost ten years Nienke has been on the staff of the Grof Transpersonal Training (GTT) Institute and has facilitated at trainings in Italy, Spain, Denmark and Ireland. She also has assisted at GTT workshops in Portugal, Switzerland, England and Austria.  Nienke was born and raised in Holland. While working in Indonesia she met her Dutch husband. They have lived with their two sons in many different countries around the world, adapting to and learning from new cultures every few years. Nienke is deeply committed to an inner journey, seeking to find and manifest her full potential. She feels fortunate to have found Holotropic BreathworkTM  as a way to give expression to her self and to support others on their journeys.  Nienke has an inherent passion for employing different forms of art as a way to explore and express the mystery of life.  For now, she has settled with her husband in Ireland, and they regularly visit their sons and partners in Canada and Holland. She enjoys her books, her music, her garden, her art and above all the playfulness of their two little granddaughters in Amsterdam.

Dara White works as an environmental engineer having studied an MSc in water resources in Birmingham. He worked in Ethiopia for a couple of years providing basic sanitation, clean water and building schools and health centres for a rural community.  On returning to Ireland in 1989 he suffered with depression.  Having had a number of significant dreams Dara attended a talk on Dreams and their Transformative Function presented by the Jungian Institute and knew that this was the way to work with his depression so he spent a couple of years in Jungian dream therapy and also studied with the Jungian Institute and has a certificate in Jungian Psychology.  He continued his transpersonal work through Grof Holotropic BreathworkTM and certified in 1996 with the Grof Transpersonal Training.  Dara also studied shamanism in Florida and has been practicing meditation for many years and enjoys yoga.  He lives with his family near the shores of Lough Ree where he loves to spend time swimming and boating.

We are inspired to run these workshops to sustain love as the source of being in this world
